This convent was started on 4th April 1959.  This convent is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  Rev. Mother Faviola, (EKM) Rev. Mother Ambrose (EKM), Rev. Mother Collet (KLM) and Rev. Mother Jestin (KLM) were the 1st members and they were working in St. Mary's Hospital run by Dr. Abraham Thekkumkadan.  Following the division of the Mother Province Ernakulam, the sisters who were working in the hospital returned to the Mother Province and so we stopped the service in that hospital in July 1962.  Rev. Mother Dennis was the first Superior of this convent.  We have a tailoring Centre.  We have a registered Social Centre-named Jeeva Dan Centre here.  Rev. Sr. Lesieux Mary took initiative to start this social centre.  We are fortunate to start as well equipped hostel named St.Alphonsa.
