
FCC Kothamangalam
The Diocese of Kothamangalam was established in the year 1957. Consequently in the year 1962, the F.C.C. of Ernakulum Province was divided in to two, forming the new Province, namely Vimala Province Kothamangalam. The first convent of Kothamangalam was established



Events
The thirteenth century marks the reformation of the catholic Church which was polluted by worldly drives. St. Francis of Assisi was one among the pioneers who could twist it by the Holy Spirit and St.Clare was woman incarnation of the Franciscan spirit.This spirit was propogated in Kerala by Puthanparambil Thommachan in the 19th century and he could inspire eight pious ladies of the Franciscan Third order secular around Pala, who later turned to be the foudresses of the Franciscan Clarist Congregation(F.C.C.)with the paternal blessing of BP. Charles Levinge in 1888. Today, the F.C.C. continues the services to the Lord and His people by serving the poor, the orphans, the downtrodden, and the mentally challenged children,imparting knowledge to the illiterate, evangelising. educating,caring the sick etc. according to the needs of the changing world and this tries to reach the realms of perfect love. Kothamangalam Vimala province of the F.C.C.was formed as its fifth branch in1962. Vimala province invites all especially young girls to spread the compassionate love of the poor, humble and crucified Jesus in world through the active and contemplative lives
